PSI’s management team has the benefit of working with a Science Advisory Board to ensure that our methodologies and approaches are consistent with the highest professional standards and practices. The Board is comprised of leading experts in Measurement, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Labor Law.
Paul R. Sackett is the Beverly and Richard Fink Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the Ohio State University in 1979. His research interests revolve around various aspects of testing and assessment in workplace, military, and educational settings. His work on issues of fairness and bias in testing includes frequently-cited 1994, 2001, and 2008 American Psychologist articles. He has long been active in the assessment of honesty and integrity in the workplace. He also publishes extensively on the assessment of managerial potential and methodological issues in employee selection.
He served as founding editor of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s (SIOP) journal Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice, and editor of Personnel Psychology. He has served as president of SIOP, as co-chair of the Joint Committee on the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, as a member of the National Research Council’s Board on Testing and Assessment, as chair of APA’s Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessments, and as chair of APA’s Board of Scientific Affairs.
He has received awards for teaching (Herbert Heneman Award from students at Minnesota’s Industrial Relations Center), research (the Human Resource Division of the Academy of Management’s Career Achievement Award), and service (Lifetime Service Award from the National Academy of Sciences). He is the only person to receive lifetime achievement awards in the three domains of teaching, research, and service from SIOP (Distinguished Teaching Contribution Award, Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award, Distinguished Service Contribution Award). He has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Ghent University, Belgium.
Sheldon Zedeck, Ph.D.

Dr. Sheldon Zedeck is Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Professor of the Graduate School, in the Department of Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley. He has been at Berkeley since 1969 when he completed his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. As an administrator (Chair of the Department of Psychology, UC Berkeley; Director of UC Berkeley’s Institute of Industrial Relations; Vice-Chair of the UC Berkeley Academic Senate; Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Faculty Welfare, UC Berkeley; and member and Chair of the Council of Graduate Departments of Psychology (COGDOP)), Dr. Zedeck has been involved with generating and implementing various plans and programs that impact the unit’s organization and practices.
Dr. Zedeck is co-author of four books on various topics, including the Foundations of Behavioral Science Research in Organizations (1974, with Milton Blood), (2) Measurement Theory for the Behavioral Sciences (1981, with Edwin E. Ghiselli and John Campbell), (3) Performance Measurement and Theory (1983, with Frank Landy and Jan Cleveland), and (4) Data Analysis for Research Designs (1989, with Geoffrey Keppel). In addition, he has edited a volume entitled Work, Family, and Organizations (1992), which is part of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Frontiers Series.
Dr. Zedeck has served on the editorial boards of Journal of Applied Psychology, Contemporary Psychology, and Industrial Relations; he has been Associate Editor, Archives of Scientific Psychology (2012 – 2014) and American Psychologist (2010 – 2015); and Senior Advisory Board and Guest Editor (2009 – present), Journal of Business and Psychology He has also served as Editor and Associate Editor of Human Performance, a journal that he and Frank Landy founded in 1988, as well as Associate Editor of Applied Psychology: An International Review and Editor of the Industrial/Organizational Psychology section for the Encyclopedia of Applied Psychology (published by Elsevier in 2004). He is the editor-in-chief for the 3-volume American Psychological Association (APA) Handbook of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (2011), as well as being chief-editor for the APA Dictionary of Statistics and Research Methods (Fall 2014). Dr. Zedeck has been active in the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (Division 14 of the APA).
For 40+ years, Dr. Zedeck has been active in consulting with private and public-sector organizations. He has developed selection and promotion systems for private and public organizations, for jobs from entry level through senior management, with a focus on systems that are fair and provide for a diverse workforce. He has also been an expert witness representing plaintiffs, organizations, and as part of consent decree teams, in employment discrimination cases.
Wayne Camara, Ph.D.

Wayne J. Camara is the Horace Mann Research Chair and formerly Senior Vice President of Research at ACT (2013-2017) and Vice President of Research at College Board (1994-2013). He was responsible for psychometrics, research, validation, and assessment design and development. He played a major role in major developments including the design and research for the SAT with Writing and redesign of AP. Previously he served in leadership at the American Psychological Association (APA), taught at George Washington University and worked as a research scientist at HumRRO.
Wayne is a fellow of APA (divisions 1, 5 and 14), APS, AERA and SIOP, past president of the National Council for Measurement in Education, past Vice President of AERA Division D, past president of APA’s Division of Evaluation, Measurement & Statistics, past chair of the Association of Test Publishers, and an associate editor or on the editorial board of journals in education and industrial psychology. He is currently on the council of the International Test Commission (ITC). He has served as technical advisor for US assessment programs for the military (DOD), law school (LSAC), medical school(AAMC), accountants (AICPA), student athletes (NCAA), and various state and employment testing programs. Wayne has served as the project director for the 1999 Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, chair of the Management Committee for the 2014 revision, and on committees developing testing standards for ISO, SIOP, ITC, APA, and the Code of Fair Testing Practices. He is recipient of career awards from SIOP and ATP.
His research is applied and pragmatic in assisting admissions professionals, educators and businesses in measuring and defining college and career readiness and success, as well as research on subgroup different, accommodations in testing, differential validity, and professional practices and standards. In addition, he has frequently appeared in the media speaking on behalf of assessment and has testified before Congress and state legislatures and served as an expert in judicial proceedings involving selection, personal testing, and affirmative action.

Suzanne Lane’s scholarly interests are in educational measurement and testing, with a focus on design, technical, validity and policy issues in large scale testing. She has published in the Journal of Educational Measurement, Applied Measurement in Education, Educational Assessment, and Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice. She is a co-editor of the Handbook of Test Development. She was the President of NCME (2003-2004), Vice President of Division D-AERA (2000-2002), member of the Joint Committee for revising the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing (1993-1999). Rick Jacobs is professor of psychology at Penn State University and Senior Vice President, Advisory Services at PSI, an international testing organization specializing in assessment and selection. As professor, he is responsible for graduate and undergraduate education in industrial psychology. At PSI he serves as a senior scientist and consultant, developing selection programs that are valid and consistent with legal guidelines. He has extensive experience in assessment centers, individual assessment methodologies, and has developed numerous executive assessment programs.
Dr. Jacobs has been at Penn State since 1979. He holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA, a master’s degree from San Diego State University, and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. He has received several national awards for his work including the Ghiselli award for research excellence from the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (1982), the Yoder-Heneman award for research from the Society for Human Resource Management (1992), the William Owens award for research from the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (2000), and the Robert McDonald advancement of organizational research methodology award from the Academy of Management (2010). He is the author of over 60 research articles and book chapters. He is a fellow in the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society.

Lawrence J. Fabrey, Ph.D., is Chief Psychometrician for PSI Services, an international testing company based in Glendale, CA, with certification headquarters in Olathe, KS. He is now in an advisory role; until recently was responsible for managing the psychometrics division for PSI’s certification clients. Larry was in a similar role with Applied Measurement Professionals, and he previously worked with the American Nurses’ Association and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He was a voting psychometrician for the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) for six years and Chair of the NCCA for three, while also serving on the Board of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA, now I.C.E.).
