Can I participate in a Predix web delivered exam from any location?

Yes, you may participate in a live, web delivered exam from anywhere that is convenient, as long as your computer and Internet connection meet minimum requirements.

Do I need to install any specific software to participate in the exam?

No software installations will be required. As mentioned above, all you will need is a stable broadband internet connection, a chrome or chromium web browser, webcam and microphone.

How do I schedule an exam?

You must have a Predix account to register for the exam. The initial exam payment process will occur on the Predix website at Find the Predix Certified Developer Exam course and register your payment. You will receive an email confirming your purchase. Within 24 hours you will be notified that your exam is ready to be scheduled. The earliest you will be able to scheduule your exam will be the following business day.

How do I reschedule or cancel an Exam Reservation?

If you would like to cancel/reschedule your exam you will need to enter the profile credentials (username/password) you created for your profile. Then, navigate to: Click Sign In and enter login credentials. Click My Exams and click on the cancel or reschedule button

What is the cancellation policy for my scheduled exam?

Exams must be canceled or rescheduled at least 72 hours before the scheduled exam time. Failing to cancel or reschedule within this time period will result in forfeiture of exam fees, and your exam credit/eligibility will be considered used.

Can I request a refund from Predix for an exam registration?

You may reschedule your exam; no refunds will be given.

What will happen if I do not show up for my exam?

All missed exams will be marked as a no-show for the exam. No-shows forfeit the money paid for an exam, and no rescheduling is allowed for the exam.

If I do not show up to my exam, how soon would I be allowed to schedule it again?

You may schedule immediately, but the 48 hour cancellation policy applies.

What do I need on the day of my exam?

One form of government issued photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport) or a GE Identification badge if an employee.

You will be required to provide a means of photo identification before the exam can be launched. If acceptable proof of identification is not provided to the proctor prior to the exam, entry to the exam will be refused. You must also consent to having your photo taken. The ID will be used for identity verification only and will not be stored. The proctor cannot release the exam to you until identification has been successfully verified and you have agreed to the terms and conditions of the exam. No refund or rescheduling is provided when an exam cannot be started due to failure to provide proper identification. Please note that the presented international Passport or government issued form of identification must contain Western (English) characters. How do I launch my exam? At what time should I arrive for my exam?

In order to launch the exam after it has been scheduled previously: Visit Click Sign In and enter login credentials. Click My Exams and click the green Launch button. You may start your exam up to 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. You MUST start your exam no later than 15 minutes after your scheduled start time. If you do not start your exam within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time, the system will automatically mark you as a No-Show and you will not be able to take your exam.

Will the proctor be able to access my computer or its contents?

PSI does not install any software on your computer for this exam and, therefore, does not have any access to your computer or its contents. The only access PSI has to your computer is the webcam and desktop sharing facilitated by your web browser. However, please note that PSI does provide a virtual lockdown browser system that utilizes secure communications and encryption. Upon the completion of the exam all proctor “view-only access” is automatically removed.

How long do I have to complete the exam? When does the timer begin?

The time for your exam does not start until the exam has been launched by the PSI proctor. You are given up to 90 minutes to complete the Predix Certified Developer Exam.

If I fail the exam, how long must I wait to schedule the exam again?

If an attempted exam is failed, then you must wait 3 weeks to schedule the exam again.

Solutions Architect FAQ

What are the requirements to become certified?

A passing score on the Predix Certified Solutions Architect Exam is the only requirement.

How do I register for the exam?

What does the test cover?

The exam tests competency on the following areas: scoping business requirements, data management, connectivity, edge devices, security requirements, analytics and compliance and cybersecurity issues.

How is the exam administered?

The exam is an online, remotely proctored test with 60 multiple choice questions. Examinees have 90 minutes to answer the questions.

What training is available to take before the exam?

When can I schedule an exam?

Once you have registered in our system at, you will receive instructions on scheduling your exam time and proctor. You may schedule your test up to two months from the current date.

Are there any rules for taking the exam?

You must be alone in a quiet room. Mobile devices, notes, or additional browser tabs are not allowed during the exam period. The proctor will verify identity using a government issued id card. The remote proctor will record the user movements and desktop navigation for review by GE should there be a challenge.

What are the costs to take the exam?

The exam is listed at $250 per exam – volume and employee discounts will apply. Retakes are $100 with no discounts.

What if I don’t pass the exam?

You may register for a retake after a 2-­‐week waiting period.

When will I see my score?

Scores are reported online to the test taker immediately after the exam. They will be updated in the training system within 48 hours. Candidates that pass the exam will receive a link to download their certificate.

What is a passing score?

Candidates must pass 46 out of 60 to pass the exam.
