Can I participate in a Pivotal web delivered exam from any location?

Yes, you may participate in a live, web delivered exam from anywhere that is convenient, as long as the environment is quiet with no other individuals present.  In addition, your computer and Internet connection must meet minimum requirements.

Do I need to install any specific software to participate in the exam?

No software installations will be required. As mentioned above, all you will need is a stable broadband internet connection, a chrome or chromium web browser (e.g., Google Chrome), webcam, and microphone. However, a Google Chrome extension will be required to share your desktop. Visit the Compatibility Check page above to obtain the extension.

Will the proctor be able to access my computer or its contents?

PSI does not install any software on your computer for this exam and, therefore, does not have any access to your computer or its contents.

The only access PSI has to your computer is the webcam and desktop sharing facilitated by your web browser. However, please note that PSI uses a virtual lockdown browser system for secure communications and encryption. Upon the completion of the exam all proctor “view-only access” is automatically removed.

How do I schedule an exam?

In order to schedule the exam, you need to go to www.examslocal.com, where you will have the ability to select the exam by typing a keyword (i.e. Pivotal or Core Spring) in the “Search Here” box. You should sign in You will be able to select a preferred date and time for your exam, complete a compatibility check (as mentioned above), and to agree to terms and conditions in order to schedule your exam. Please note that exams require a 24-hour lead time to schedule; the earliest date you will be able to select for your exam reservation will be the next business day. The time of your exam based on the time zone that is set on your web browser. Lastly you will be prompted to check out using your assigned eCredit.

How do I reschedule or cancel an Exam Reservation?

If you would like to cancel/reschedule your exam you will need to log into www.examslocal.com (username/password). Click on the “Cancel or Reschedule” button.

What is the cancellation policy for my scheduled exam?

Exams must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled exam time. Failing to cancel or reschedule within this time period will result in forfeiture of exam fees, and your exam credit/eligibility will be considered used.

Can I change the exam title that I’ve already registered for?

No. Once you have been issued an eCredit for an exam, it is applicable to only that exam.

What will happen if I do not show up for my exam?

By not showing up to your exam reservation on time, you will be marked as a no-show for the exam and will forfeit the money paid for an exam. Rescheduling after a no-show is not allowed. You will be expected to pay for the exam again.

How do I launch my exam? At what time should I arrive for my exam?

In order to launch the exam once scheduled:

Click My Exams and click the green Launch button

You may start your exam up to 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. You MUST start your exam no later than 15 minutes after your scheduled start time. If you do not start your exam within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time, the system will automatically mark you as a No-Show and you will not be able to take your exam.

What do I need on the day of my exam?

You will be required to provide a government-issued photo ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport) before the exam can be launched. The ID will be used for identity verification only and will not be stored. If acceptable proof of identification is not provided to the proctor prior to the exam, entry to the exam will be denied. Please note that the presented international passport or government issued form of identification must contain Western (English) characters. You must also consent to having your photo taken.

The proctor cannot release the exam to you until identification has been successfully verified and you have agreed to the terms and conditions of the exam. No refund or rescheduling is provided when an exam cannot be started due to failure to provide proper identification.

What are the expectations for my testing environment?

  • You must work in a quiet environment with no other individuals present.
  • If your exam is 90 minutes or less, your workspace (desk) must be clear.  If your exam exceeds 90 minutes, you may have food and beverage on your workspace, but it will be inspected by the remote proctor.
  • You may not have any other windows or documents open on your desktop.
  • If your exam is 90 minutes or less, breaks are not allowed.  If your exam exceeds 90 minutes, you may take a break, but the exam clock keeps running.

How long do I have to complete the exam? When does the timer begin?

The timer for your exam does not start until the exam has been launched by the proctor. Pivotal allows 90 minutes for the completion of multiple-choice exams and four (4) hours for the completion of performance-based exams.

When can I expect to receive the results to my exam?

You will receive your results within one (1) business day. If you do not, please contact education@pivotal.io.

What if I have a medical issue and require food or medicine during the examination?

Candidates who may need food, beverage, or break allowances for health reasons should contact education@pivotal.io in advance to make reasonable accommodations.

What if I have an emergency and need to take a break during the exam?
