How do I schedule an exam?

The process for you to schedule an NRFSP FSMCE exam is go to the PSI registration site,, and register and pay for your exam. As a first time user you will need to create an account in order to schedule the exam. However, if you have tested with PSI in the past then you will have the ability to log in with your previously created username and password.

To schedule your exam you will have the ability to search for your exam by it’s name, exam code, or sponsor name (i.e. NRFSP). You will then be prompted to enter your preferred testing location and preferred date and time to test. You will also be prompted to agree to the PSI and NRFSP specific testing agreements. Please note that exams require a 24-hour lead time to schedule your exam; the earliest date you will be able to select for your exam reservation is the next business day.

To find a location to take your NRFSP exam please visit the PSI registration link,, select the exam, enter a preferred date and time and preview availability. Even if you have not yet purchased the exam you can still preview availability by clicking the next button a second time.

What is the cancellation policy for my scheduled exam?

Exams must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled exam time. Failing to cancel or reschedule within this time period will result in forfeiture of exam fees, and your exam credit/eligibility will be considered used.

How do I reschedule or cancel an Exam Reservation?

Can I request a refund from NRFSP for an exam registration?

You have up to three (3) business days following payment of exam registration fees or up to 24 hours prior to a scheduled exam reservation, whichever comes first, to request a full refund on your exam registration fees.

Please Note: If you have an exam reservation scheduled, you must first cancel the reservation at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the reservation. Refund requests cannot be processed if there is a scheduled exam reservation in the system.

What will happen if I do not show up for my exam?

By not showing up to your exam reservation on time, you will be marked as a no-show for the exam. No-shows automatically forfeit any exam fees or exam credits/eligibilities, and no refunds are allowed for the exam.

What do I need on the day of my exam?

A non-expired government issued photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport)
You will be required to provide a means of photo identification before the exam can be launched. If acceptable proof of identification is not provided to the proctor prior to the exam, entry to the exam will be refused. Please note that the ID will be used for identity verification only and will not be stored.

The proctor cannot release the exam to you until identification has been successfully verified and you have agreed to the terms and conditions of the exam. No refund or rescheduling is allowed if an exam cannot be started due to failure to provide proper identification.

At what time should I arrive for my exam?

You may attempt to start your exam up to 15 minutes before your scheduled start time but please note that the exam may not be ready until your scheduled exam time. You MUST start your exam no later than 15 minutes after your scheduled start time. If you do not start your exam within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time, the system will automatically mark you as a No-Show and you will not be able to take your exam. In addition, failing to appear with within this time period will result in forfeiture of exam fees.

When can I expect to receive the results to my exam?

If I, unfortunately, fail my exam, how soon after am I allowed to scheduled again?

You may schedule the exam immediately, BUT cannot take the exam within 24 hours from the day the exam was failed.
