CBDCE and PSI Celebrate A 20 Year Partnership

PSI will continue to deliver full test development and administration services for Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education with contract renewal

February 3, 2022

Glendale, CA – PSI Services (PSI), a leading provider of high-stakes testing solutions to corporate enterprises, federal and state governments, professional bodies, academic institutions and publishers, is proud to announce a contract renewal with the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE). This January marks twenty years as PSI being the CBDCE’s testing partner.

The CBDCE celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. The organization was founded in 1986 to formalize and validate a specific body of knowledge for the multi-disciplinary healthcare practitioners who specialized in providing diabetes care and education to people with diabetes. Since it was first awarded, originally as the Certified Diabetes Educator® (CDE®) credential, and now known as the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist® credential has become a standard of excellence for the delivery of quality diabetes care and education.

PSI will continue to deliver full test development and administration services for CBDCE in this contract. CBDCE is a member of the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS). PSI, the leading testing provider for specialty nursing certification, also works with more than 85% of the ABNS member boards, with a mission to continue to bring best practices to these nursing specialties boards and to collaborate on new and novel approaches to credentialing.

From 2021, online proctoring is now available as a modality for CBDCE’s test takers via PSI Bridge‍‍™, PSI’s multi-modal testing platform for anytime, anywhere proctoring. This allows test takers the flexibility of pursuing a certification with a broader choice of testing modalities.

“Our mission at CBDCE is to promote ongoing quality diabetes care, education, prevention and support by providing certification and credentialing programs that incorporate and reflect best practices,” said Sheryl Traficano, MBA, CAE, CEO at CBDCE. “We have relied on PSI to support us in offering an examination that reflects that mission since 1999 and believe that they are the right partner to help us continue to deliver on the goals we set out when we entered this partnership together.”

“CBDCE is a long and highly valued partner of ours at PSI and it has been incredible to see what they have achieved with the CDCES credential (formerly CDE) over the past 20 years,” said Rory McCorkle, PhD, Senior Vice President for Global Business Development and Client Success at PSI. “Supporting such a critical mission of diabetes care, an issue that affects over 13% of adult Americans, is a privilege for PSI. We are pleased that CBDCE continues to work with us for their testing services needs, as we celebrate this milestone in our partnership together.”
