An inspirational day of thought leadership

After months of planning, we filled London‘s Tobacco Dock with almost 100 people including independent coaches and corporate users of our tools, for our first Practitioner Conference. The event was an opportunity to support users of our tools with a day of leadership and Emotional Intelligence thought leadership.

Firstly, I’m so proud that our Practitioner Community has grown so much! What a way to celebrate these milestones – with a day of success stories from clients on how they’ve applied Emotional Intelligence to overcome business challenges, our very own experts sharing top tips with delegates and having the opportunity to network and debate the hot topics in the industry, all within the unique environment of Tobacco Dock.

The day, which focussed on the vital role of Emotional Intelligence in successful leaders, generated many interesting discussions around the business challenges facing HR and L&D departments, including the topic of wellbeing at work and the ever-evolving AI versus EI debate. The challenges and expectations facing business leaders to strategise, inspire and ultimately deliver, is ever increasing, and our team is constantly working with clients to create the most innovative tools to help overcome these business issues.

I was excited to introduce some of our latest tools to the Practitioners, including the EI Zone app which develops and sustains an individual’s Emotional Intelligence through technology – it really is like having a coach in your pocket! We also gave Practitioners a first look at their personalised Resilience report, which gave the room of psychologists, coaches and HR professionals their own strengths and developments areas to take away and review (which I’m relieved to say were extremely well received!). It’s been an exciting development process building such innovative and impactful tools, but so rewarding to see the positive feedback and excitement about how they will be used. It fills me with joy to see our next generation of products evolve.

It was great to see so many faces at the event, some that have been with PSI since the first evolution of our Emotional Intelligence profile (the Individual Effectiveness questionnaire) and others that I trained only last week, in our leading development and assessment tools.

I travelled home after the event with such a sense of pride from the buzzing energy in the room, and having heard the incredible stories of how our tools are used to improve people’s working lives, to support them to develop and grow. It was a privilege to spend the day with my extended family (they feel like family having worked with John and Jo for the last 20 years!) and everyone that joined us on the day. I wanted to say a big thank you to our Practitioners for their support and fantastic feedback, I look forward to doing it all again next year!

If you weren’t able to join us on the day, you can watch the event highlights video here.
